Dr. Shambhavi Samir Alve (PhD, CMT-P)

Country Director (India)
Certified Mindfulness Teacher (CMT-P)

Dr. Shambhavi is the Country Director of India and a Certified Mindfulness Teacher - Professional (CMT-P). She is a practicing psychotherapist and mindfulness coach in India, dedicated to a sustainable and systematic approach to mental health and wellness. With a PhD in Psychology and an MBA in Human Resources, Dr. Shambhavi has spent the last 10 years working with clients from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Her trauma-informed, queer-affirmative practice is deeply rooted in the principles of mindfulness.

Dr. Shambhavi believes that mental health and wellness extend beyond the treatment of mental disorders, offering ample opportunity to enhance one's overall state of well-being. As a trained and certified mindfulness teacher, she integrates these beliefs into her practice and her work.

In her numerous training modules, which she prefers to call "awakening sessions," Dr. Shambhavi has covered a wide range of topics, including mental health awareness, developing a positive attitude, work-life balance, gender sensitivity, adolescent well-being, stress management, and Internet dependency/addiction—an area she explored in depth during her PhD research.

Her engagements have spanned from corporate settings to schools, from military organizations to NGOs. Driven by a strong passion for restoring well-being among her fellow citizens, Dr. Shambhavi actively participated in community welfare programs during the pandemic. She was involved in the COVID Mental Health Awareness Campaign by the National Network of Depression Center India Foundation (NNDCIF) and currently serves as the Vice President of the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s (WICCI) National Mental Health Council.

With a commitment to promoting "well-being for all," Dr. Shambhavi is determined to introduce secular mindfulness practices across all age groups, genders, sexual orientations, and cultures.

Additionally, Dr. Shambhavi is a self-taught resin artist, a creative pursuit she considers a byproduct of her personal mindfulness practice. The ability to switch from "doing" to "being" mode has allowed her to embrace her creative side, with her artistic creations featured under the brand name Wolf Woman.
